Upload and detect
Drop a supported 3D file into the browser. The import engine detects the source format and prepares the model locally.
Find your input format or a named conversion pair — or skip straight to the generic uploader below, which asks for a target after upload instead of before.
Same generic uploader as the home page — pick the export format once the file loads.
or drop model files here
Category pages are the middle layer between the directory and the individual format hubs.
Named pairs show their target first while compatible formats remain available in Studio.
The converter is built for quick format changes, but the safest results still come from checking the source, choosing the right target, and reviewing the downloaded file before production use.
Drop a supported 3D file into the browser. The import engine detects the source format and prepares the model locally.
Pick the output format that matches your workflow: printing, web delivery, DCC editing, CAD exchange, or simple preview.
Download the converted file, then check scale, normals, materials, textures, and slicer or viewer preview before using it downstream.
Many conversion problems come from choosing a target that cannot represent the data in the source. Use this table before exporting.
| Format | Best for | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| STL | STL for 3D printing, slicers, rapid prototyping, and simple manufacturing handoff. | STL only stores triangle geometry. Materials, textures, UVs, units metadata, and animation are not preserved. |
| GLB / glTF | GLB/glTF for web and AR delivery, ecommerce previews, Three.js, model-viewer, and real-time apps. | Great for runtime delivery, but not a replacement for editable CAD history or manufacturing metadata. |
| OBJ / FBX | OBJ/FBX for DCC tools, asset libraries, game engines, and mesh editing workflows. | Check external MTL files, texture folders, scene hierarchy, rigging, and application-specific material settings. |
| STEP / IGES | STEP/IGES for CAD exchange when engineering surfaces or supplier workflows need a CAD-oriented source. | CAD-to-mesh export uses tessellation, so curve smoothness, units, tolerance, and file size need inspection. |
These notes make the tool behavior explicit, matching the questions users usually check on competing converter pages.
Conversion uses WebAssembly workers in your browser.
Current public converter processes one file at a time. Batch queues and ZIP downloads should be treated as roadmap until shipped.
Always compare the original and output when geometry, materials, textures, scale, or manufacturing accuracy matters.
Large assemblies, missing texture folders, unsupported animation data, bad normals, and non-manifold meshes are the most likely issues.
